I've been tagged by still standing strong in a bloom of hope so I'll take a detour from all my bitching and whining and have a little fun.
Here's how it goes:The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then go to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
What was I doing 10 years ago?
I am so cheating on this one because it is the same question I answered for another tag. Apologies to those of you who have seen this. I'm too old to remember anything else that happened 10 years ago.
- I finished my B.S. in Engineering Physics in May and decided to take a year off to figure out what the hell I wanted to do. I continued teaching Physics labs at the university and went back to work selling shoes at Sears. My family thought I had lost my mind, but I wasn't sure Engineering was for me and wasn't really ready to get a grown-up job.
- M. and I celebrated our 1 year dating anniversary. Neither of us knew the exact date so we had to make one up. I am so not a girly-girl with this crap. We had also been living in sin for nearly a year. No need to do the math. When it works, it works.
- I found out that my brother and SIL were expecting their first baby. My nephew, Blake, was born the following May.
- We rescued Molly the Wonder Dog from the Humane Society for a companion to our 1 year old golden retriever, Jordan. A litter of 7 German Shorthaired Pointers had been dumped. We had taken M.'s grandma to find a new dog after hers died, but ended up with a second one of our own. She is the most neurotic and entertaining dog I have ever owned. "Wonder Dog" is in reference to "wonder why we kept her".
5 things on my to do list today:
- Talk to one of my project managers about taking a couple days off for IVF#2. He had mentioned that he was concerned about all the sick time I have taken this year to my supervisor last week so I spilled the beans and told him about the fertility treatments. He was more concerned for my health than the work I was missing which was nice. Still got the "adoption" speech.
- Ran my thermal model to check if some fittings are going to screw up my design. Everything is already installed so hope it looks okay when I get in tomorrow. Mechanical people suck today.
- Cry in the bathroom because that is what I do lately.
- Celebrate the arrival of AF. Hurdle #1 over and stims should start on Friday.
- Go to 1 telecon that I was useless in and 1 meeting that I wasn't.
Snacks I enjoy:
- Triscuits with spaghetti sauce and mozzarella
- ice cream - it's a snack in my world
- quesadillas with more salsa than tortilla
Things I would do if I were a billionaire:
- Quit my job and spend time volunteering at a nursing home (working with old people is my dream job)
- Donate to help find cures for auto-immune conditions (M.S., endometriosis, Interstitial Cystitis, etc.)
- Donate for research and treatments for infertility
- Go to the top clinic for IVF
- Buy DH an English Bulldog
- Move to a better neighborhood
- Little farming town in nowhere Nebraska
- Omaha, NE
- Key Largo, FL
- Orange County, CA
- Los Angeles County, CA

Wow! You're gonna' start stimming so soon!! Very exciting! :)
Q: What's the top IVF clinic in the country? (This is a serious question.) My hubby and I were debating this the other day. I guessed maybe Dr. Sher???? I really don't know, though.
I used to do regional marketing with Estee Lauder but now that I'm here in Melbourne, I'm on a break..cuz i have to travel for work and i can't decide what to do...sigh..so i told babes that maybe i'll just do volunteer work at RSPCA and do some casual work whilst i find myself... :(
English bulldogs are so cute!
And I'm born Catholic and lived in sin for 6years before we got married. My dad flipped and asked me on the phone one day if I was taking precautions! I was so embarrassed that I said I DON'T KNOW WHAT U'RE TALKING ABOUT.BYE!..:)
Ok, I'm giving you cyber tissues for all your cries that you've been having.
Hugs.
I'm glad you're about to start stims! I really hope this will be the cycle for you.
Thank you SOOOO much for your advice on my blog. Really, I can't thank you enough - b/c I was getting nervous and stopped thinking straight, and couldn't figure out what I should have been doing to prep myself for the appointment. I copied down everything you said and took it in with me to make sure I asked everything, and it went okay. I'll update on my blog. But I wanted to make sure that I thanked you properly for helping me out at the last minute - thanks!!! {{{hugs}}}
