Thanks so much for all your well wishes. Because we haven't told any of our friends or family IRL that we are doing another IVF (or that we are even trying to get pregnant for most of them), it means so much to me to have such great support from my online friends. You guys really are the best.
Our egg retrieval went fine today. We were there bright and early and I was the first ER of the day. I had the best nurse and anesthesiologist today, so along with Dr. K it was the best crew I could have hoped for. Dr. K was able to get 8 eggs today. Less than last time (13), but we are hoping for quality over quantity. We dropped from 13 eggs (from 17 follicles) to 3 embryos for IVF#1 due to poor egg quality. Nothing to do now but wait I guess. I am hopeful, but guarded.
I had alot of pain on my left side after the procedure this time around - sharp, constant, stabbing pains. They had given me something for the pain in my IV during the procedure and a couple darvocet afterward, but I was miserable and just shifting around in the bed because it hurt so damn bad. They finally ended up putting the IV back in to give me another narcotic which seemed to do the trick. I guess you never know how your body will react to these things.
Today has been filled with sleep. I am always amazed when I see updates from women right after ER because I can barely stay awake. Anesthesia totally kicks my ass every time.
Next up is the fertilization report which we should get sometime tomorrow.

Yeah for your eggs woo hoo! We too didn't tell any family or friends after our second IVF failed, so I was so happy for all of you in blogland to share the next three tries with me. So wishing for top grade A+++++++ quality and lots of spiltting and dividing. Sending you big big hugs girl! xoxoxoxo
So glad ER is over! I think 8 is a great number (I had the Brady Bunch, you can have Eight is Enough). I am praying you have wonderful quality eggs growing. And please remember, the phrase "It only takes one" is true.
Will be checking in soon for your fert. report.
ooohhhh, this sounds promising. Cannot wait for the fertilization report.
Sorry about the pain. I hope you are comfortable though.
Glad that ER went well. 8 is a great number; hopefully, it will be a great fert. report. Feel better!
